JANE CAMMACK
ABOUT ME

Who are you?
I'm Jane Cammack and I was born in London - at the Salvation Army Mother's Hospital in Hackney. I studied singing at The Royal College of Music and went on to sing in Opera - Glyndebourne, Sadler's Wells and then La Scala in Milan. I only meant to stay in Italy for six months, but I fell in love with La Scala, then an Italian and of course with Italy. I lived there for many years.
When my children were born I moved to Lecco, a town on the shores of Lake Como. Lecco is where the famous Italian author Alessandro Manzoni lived and based his novel 'I Promessi Sposi' - The Betrothed.
What have you written?
I used to sing, but now I write and I have published many stories, culture books, and holiday books. I'm writing a course book for Middle School at the moment with an Italian friend. You can see some of the books in the BOOKS section.
Other books?
I have a desk full of scribblings and first drafts of novels. At the moment I'm writing crossover fiction - a story about the Blitz.
